Croissant crawl!

I’m not one for hopping on trends especially food trends because one thing about me? I will NOT be queuing insane hours cos insta or TikTok told me to. I will queue only if I genuinely want the food! I like to let trends die down before trying them out cos less people = less time waiting 🙂

For me, nothing beats a GOOD, quality, well laminated, buttery pastry (read: croissant). However, once in a while I like a chocolate filled one or a custard filled one. So I thought why not take a couple of hours on my NO UNI or WORK DAY and try some funky iterations of the good old croissant that have taken the inter webs by storm!

So croissant crawl, here we goooooo.

Richoux

The cruffin/cronut walked so that the spiral croissant could run. Out of all the croissants I tried during this crawl, my favourite was the Apple crumble cruffin.

It’s filled (and very well filled) with vanilla bean custard and an apple puree. It’s topped with a chunky piece of crumble too! It literally is SO GOOD and worth every single pound of its £6.95 price tag. Flavours change often to keep things fresh! 100/10.

Kuro

Kuro bakery is very cool and the vibes are cute. Theres a bakery, a coffee shop and a restaurant all within walking distance! So you could have a pastry and a coffee then go for lunch or dinner.

Out of all the croissants I tried, this was the most disappointing. It was quite small and there was BARELY any filling!

Like, where is the filling?! I didn’t really enjoy this vanilla sakuro and hope that maybe the other flavours have more filling….

Karma Bread

In my search for all the funky croissants, I came across this croissant cube from Karma Bread. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Karma Bread are not new to the cube croissant. They’ve been making them for a couple of years it seems. They have a chocolate version and a berries and cream version as well as a weekend special. I’m a die hard berries and cream girlie so obviously that’s the one I got!

Very glad with my choice. They did NOT skimp on the filling or on the flavour. This is deffo #2 on the list.

Le Deli Robuchon

Obviously I had to get something chocolate-y! And the croissant cube from Le Deli Robuchon hit all the spots.

The early sell outs and queues are quite telling that this cube slaps! It was MASSIVE – enough to share if you feel that way inclined and loaded with chocolate filling.

They also have a summer ice cream version! Come on innovation!

There was one stop on my initial list that I didn’t get to cos tbh I was a bit pastry-ed out! That spot was Philippe Conticini. They’ve recently released a GIANT croissant and a GIANT pain au chocolat and that’s what I really want. Anyone want to share?

Now on to the next crawl! What should I do next? A bakery crawl or an ice-cream crawl? Let me know!

Have a good week friends!
