Tavolino Kitchen

How much I love pasta is common knowledge if you’ve been here a while. I am OBSESSED. The simpler and fewer ingredients there are in the pasta, the better for me. Probably why I love Cacio e Pepe. 3 ingredients only and the result is MAGIC!

Instagram has given me the opportunity to e-meet some really cool chefs and see the awesome work they do. One of these cool people? Chef Taylor, head pastry chef at Tavolino. Seeing all the cool desserts she makes, I knew I had to go there! Didn’t hurt that the views were stunning and the pasta was FIREEEE.

After BoJo’s restriction on indoor eating lifted on 17th May, I headed to Tavolino for my pasta fix!

The weather on this day was madness though. Hail and torrential rain in May…. WHY THIS?

Half the sky was sunny and the other side was cloudy???? How very British of me to go on and on about the weather right…

Anyway, moving on swiftly to the food.

Bread and olives to start in a very quiet (an introverts heaven) and pretty Tavolino.

Let’s talk about this honeyed garlic focaccia for a few secs. That honeyed garlic? 🤯 Another brain child of Chef Taylor. Have to Stan her work. SO SO GOOD.

Pasta time!!

GLITHENINGGGGGGGGGGG!! There’s not much else to say about this really. How about another photo?

Okay but WHY did my dad ask me if this was Indomie. Where are your glasses sir? I felt very attacked but you guys on insta found it v funny 😒

I’d usually say that pasta was the star of the meal but not this time. I’m gonna give that title to the dessert.

Not just any dessert, but the olive oil ice cream.

I didn’t think I’d love this because of the olive oil addition on top. But you know what? I LOVED THIS. Loved how fragrant the olive oil was and loved the crunch from the feuilletine. Am I gonna buy a bag of feuilletine for myself to snack on? Maybe 👀

Now the next dessert. Oh, you thought I stopped at the olive oil ice cream? NOPE. You know how I feel about sugar but I’d usually stick to one dessert so as not to be greedy or judged but pastry queen chef Taylor suggested that I try this as well. How could I say no to this?

Isn’t she just beaut? Super yum too. I think there was some five spice sprinkled on top of the ice cram which I didn’t love but everything else? YUM.

The olive oil ice cream is THE ONE to try though. Highly recommend.

Now about those views I was talking about. See below.

Would’ve been a lot better if it was sunny but viewsssss still x

And that’s all for today folks! I hope you have a great rest of the week, enjoying the sun (finally) if you’re in the UK and eating all the berries the summer has to offer.

Thank you for reading and see you on the next post!

✌🏾 Byeeee, TMA.
